Today, on Day 10 - I travel, I travel far and wide for the ultimate quest. Wool! Not much of an ultimate quest, but I need a bed, I am very tired… I travelled across the hills, around the mountains, slaughtering pigs and a few zombies, trenching through pools of water and collecting broken seeds from the ground. Soon, my quest was near complete, I had found a sheep, taking it down, I collected a piece of wool. Carrying on travelling, I found another sheep, and again I took more wool, miles later I found the final sheep, and the ultimate quest was almost done! Then I realized it, I was lost. Looking in all directions I could not find my home, I was completely lost and could do nothing about it…

Fact of the Day: Notch has released an image showing baby animals, baby animals will not drop experience points or any loot, however they will grow in to normal animals!

I’m here with Day 9 and am glad, my Minecraft days are passing and hopefully soon I’ll be allowed to take a break for a day or something! It’s still night in my Minecraft world, but I have travelled outside anyway, I have a quest of making a bed, but no sheep will spawn here, so instead I head in to the ditch outside of my house, and find iron ore. 11 nice lovely pieces of iron, time to smelt it with the charcoal I have. Before long I have 11 juicy iron ingots and the sun is rising, putting my main items in my chest, I go far, I travel, to find sheep and wool, taking a stone sword with me. It’s raining now, the first sign of bad weather we’ve seen in this world, hopefully it’s not a thunderstorm, we don’t want any mobs spawning. I can’t see in front of me, but I still travel, I must complete this quest!

Fact of the Day: In the 1.9 Pre-Release #2, the new brewing and potions system was hidden, you have to edit the code to use it though, of course only extremely intelligent people will be able to do this, so there is a mod you can get that enables you to use these new features, however you do need a modification like TooManyItems if you want to get the Cauldrons and such! [Note: In the official 1.9 release it has been confirmed cauldrons will be replaced by Brewing Stands]

Day has risen, Day 8 to be exact, welcome to my Minecraft Journal. Today, I am set off on finding some food and making my first Minecraft need, besides torches of course, a bed. I know that I’m hardly at a stage to go on and make some shears, I have only just recently reached stone tools. So, I set off, and killed some of the pigs around the house, it took me a while since animals now run away from you when you hit them, but I managed to gather some pork. I decided to gather some more first though, so I could cook it instead of eating it raw. I got bored after chasing a second pig and gaining two more pork, and headed inside to cook up a meal. That’s when my past came back to haunt me, yesterday I fell in a hole and escaped the grasp of a creeper, but as I was returning to my home, there it was, inside the hole, waiting for me. I tried to run around, but it followed, I knew this time it was truly my end, I pressed escape quickly and hoped to survive, but… I managed to get away from it’s explosion range, but I was left with only half a heart.

Quest 1: Gather some Porkchops - Complete
Quest 2: Craft a Bed - Incomplete

Weak, I headed back home and I collected some of the left over charcoal in the furnace from yesterday and then cooked some nice porkchops. When running from the Creeper I had already eaten two, but it was no matter, we’ve succeeded in our first quest, our next quest is on it’s way! Actually, it’s looking a little dark outside now, maybe I should wait until morning…

Fact of the Day: Notch has earned £51,070,838 from the game and approximately 40 pence as well as that, almost 4 million people have purchased Minecraft, and almost 15 million people have signed up to the Minecraft website.

Oh, welcome to my Minecraft Journal! We’re on Day 7 right now, feel free to come over here, come on, don’t be shy. I started the new Minecraft day by collecting some of the sugarcane outside of my house, that’s when I spotted it, a nice, beautiful, relaxing… CREEPER! It had crept up on me and I knew when I came out of the main menu, my death would be certain, I am glad that I’m not playing on hardcore mode. What I actually had spotted is the “second part” of the Mushroom Biome, when I first started this Journal I started in a small area of it and knew there was a larger area of it but just couldn’t find it, and now I have! Anyway, back to the Creeper… I did all that I could, I ran back in a hurry, luckily I found water, the Creeper didn’t manage to damage anything, but now, I feel weak. It’s no time to complain, I still have to collect some logs and make some more charcoal and then torches before night arrives. I gathered some wood, thinking I was safe, but then I fell down the ditch outside of my house, in which I met my match, Creeper 2.0, I rushed to the other side of the hole and built a tower out of wooden planks to get back up. I made some charcoal, crafted a few sticks and made 4 torches. After lighting up my house, I knew it was time to relax.

Fact of the Day: If you have the 1.9 pre-release #2 you might not know that this update has given Ender Pearls an update! If you’re in survival mode, just throw one on the ground and it will instantly teleport you! But you can’t abuse this, because every time you teleport it will take 5 damage off of your health bar!

Hey guys, welcome to Day 6 of my Minecraft Journal! Today, I knew it was time to finish off the basic house. I went outside and collected some sand, I put my final piece of charcoal in the furnace and decided it was game on. Now, all I do is wait. Before long my Charcoal is gone, so I pop in some of my remaining saplings from yesterday’s re-plant and carry on waiting. Before long I have a new sun roof and 3 pieces of glass remaining, and I only have 3 saplings left. Then, I realize something, where are my torches? Thinking I had put torches down a few days ago, I looked around suddenly and realized I never even made them, I had used my only piece of charcoal on glass rather than torches. Being night, I stayed in doors and waited until morn. Tomorrow, it’s time to get coal, that, or some more logs.

Fact of the Day: Did you know that today the Minecraft 1.9 Pre-Release #2 was released, yes, it wasn’t made as big as a deal as the first pre-release, but it’s definitely as cool, it features tons of new items, tons of new records, animal breeding and item repairing! Welcome back to my Minecraft blog, a bit of a later post today, but, it’s Day 5 so lets get going! I finished up lighting up my house, and before I knew it, day had arrived, the beautiful sunrise in front of my house. The Mooshrooms waking up from their hibernation and the pigs falling from the sky. What to do this fine morning? Well, lets chop some wood from the trees outside of my house and finish the building. I kept losing my source of planks rapidly, so I realized that it’s time to start replanting. So, I gathered a few more trees, and finished the house. Now all that is left, is the sunroof, chests and doors placed, and time to leave the peaceful world another day. See you tomorrow!

Fact of the Day: There is a land in the Minecraft world known as the Far Lands. The Far Lands occur millions of blocks out and the Far Lands is a massive chunk of randomly generated distorted blocks, it would take approximately 800 hours to reach the Far Lands when running in a straight line, and have only been reached using third party programs or modifications to this date, however there is a man named Kurtjmac who is reaching the Far Lands for charity. The Far Lands are not a proper feature of the game, and they are basically a way of telling you that you’ve reached the end of Minecraft.

It’s the final hours of the night. Day 4 of my Minecraft Journal, and today, I have collected logs, wood and all that I can. Fighting off creepers, skeletons and the other creepy monsters of the night, I have managed to start my house. It has only walls and a floor, no door, no roof. I have a crafting table now, and so I have created a wooden pickaxe and collected some cobblestone to make a furnace. Now, I can put this log in the furnace and get some Charcoal so I can make torches! Light, quite helpful. All I have to do now, is survive until the morning.

Fact of the Day: An easier fact today for the Minecraft newbies. Did you know that you can use any wooden material, even chests and saplings in a furnace. However to make Charcoal, you’ll need a log, of any type in the top of the furnace. Charcoal is an alternate version of Coal and can be quite helpful.

Hello people of the universe and welcome to Day 3 of my Minecraft Journal! It’s sunset in my Minecraft world now. The sun is falling, the sheep are returning from their bathing in the sun all day, and the cows have stopped frolicking. I know that my Minecraft world is about to get a lot dangerous, in the nights of Minecraftia, evil monsters spawn, instead of cute little sheep. Skeletons, Spiders, Zombies and Creepers are surrounding me. But tonight, I don’t sleep, tonight, I chop wood, I fight for survival. Hopefully, I’ll have a nice stable home by morning.

Fact of the Day: Did you know that the Creeper was never meant to be what it is today, the model was originally meant to be a pig, but when Notch realized that it didn’t exactly look like a pig, he created a new creature, the Creeper!

Hey guys, welcome to Day 2 of my Minecraft Journal! So, after collecting some wood, I chopped down some sugarcane and slaughtered some of the local creatures, Mooshrooms. I left a few, in case I needed some mushrooms or soup later on. I started constructing my wooden shack from the 80 wooden planks I picked up yesterday. I know a Minecraft swamp isn’t exactly the best place to build a house, being dark and gloomy and all, but hey, why not. I decided to build it in the water, where it would outlook the swamp and behind the mushroom biome would lay, so I removed the lillipads, picking them up in my inventory and started building. 

Fact of the Day: Did you know that you can actually milk Mooshrooms, not literally, if you right click on them with a bowl, you get a bowl of soup, so don’t shear them straight away!

Well hello there, there’s only one post a day on this blog but since the other post was just introducing the blog, I pronounce this Day 1 of my Minecraft Journal! So, I’ve started a new world, currently playing the Minecraft 1.9 Pre-Release. The seed I’ve used is “lost” and you spawn in a Mushroom Biome. Normally Mushroom Biomes are hard to work with, since no trees spawn in here, however you spawn next to a Swamp Biome, so there’s a lot of trees and the atmosphere is dark and gloomy. I cut down some wood and now have 19 logs, I’m going to cut this short so this can be more of a taster, come back tomorrow for Day 2!

Fact of the Day: Did you know that the Mushroom Biome “Grass” is not just grass, it’s a block called Mycelium, but when you break Mycelium, it drops a Dirt Block. You can still get Mycelium by spawning items in using an inventory editor though.
